Challenging, but less fun than I would have liked.
By Glenn Tepper
I look forward to a challenging puzzle, one with a payoff that makes the solving all the worthwhile. But too many of these puzzles had clues, that in an effort to make them worthy of a Thursday, were purposely misleading, a real far stretch, and too often, just plain lame.
A disappointment.

Some of the most fun and fulfilling crosswords out there!
By Victoria J. Mejia-Gewe
I have been working my way gradually through the different days if crossword puzzles using various editors, but I have to say that the ones edited by Will Shortz are by far the most enjoyable. They use creative themes, opposed to many books that make half the puzzles themeless. It's much more fun to solve the puzzles that contain a theme to figure out along with the puzzle clues themselves. The themes also play word games that force you to think, such as using colors or numbers fill a single box. At first I found these infuriating and not at all fun, but Witham little practice I began to recognize that a puzzle must have such a theme until I find it.
In addition, the vocabulary of the New.York Times crossword puzzle is enjoyable to play with.
Overall, I give this the highest rating possible!
