DIANA HACKER personally class-tested her handbooks with nearly four thousand students over 35 years at Prince George's Community College in Maryland, US, where she was a member of the English faculty. NANCY SOMMERS, who has taught composition and directed composition programs for thirty years, now teaches writing in the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University, USA. A two-time Braddock Award winner, Sommers is well-known for her research and publications on student writing.

Awesome resource

I bought this book for my English class and I haven't written a paper without referring back to it. The exercises are helpful, but the website is a joke. The back of the book is the most helpful to me though. The book guides readers through the citing process for MLA, APA and Chicago style citations towards the back of the book, nothing other books haven't done before, right? Well, what I really like is the real life examples and explanations it provides as well. My girlfriend, who is in medical school and no stranger to 10 page papers, prefers this book to the APA handbook she was suggested to buy from her professors. Recommend this book to anyone who has to write papers for educational or professional purposes.
